What is the Shram Yogi Maandhan Scheme?
This is a special pension scheme designed specifically for workers in the unorganized sector. By saving a small amount every month, you will receive a monthly pension of ₹3,000 once you turn 60. This means a total of ₹36,000 per year will be credited directly into your bank account.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
- Occupations: Carpenters, fishermen, porters (hamalis), tailors, rickshaw drivers, street vendors, domestic helpers, and similar unorganized workers.
- Age Limit: You must be between 18 and 40 years old.
- Income: Your monthly income must be less than ₹15,000.
- Exclusions: You must not be a member of EPFO, ESIC, or NPS, and you should not be an income tax payer.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Apply via Mobile
- Visit the Official Website: Open the Google Chrome browser on your mobile phone and go to the official website: maandhan.in.
- Select Self-Enrollment: On the homepage, tap on the “Click here to apply now” link, and then choose the “Self Enrollment” option.
- Enter Mobile Number: Enter your active mobile number and tap “Proceed”. Enter the OTP received on your phone to log in successfully.
- Fill in Personal Details: Carefully enter your name, Aadhaar card number, date of birth, and bank account details as requested.
- Add Nominee Details: Fill in the nominee details (the person who will receive benefits in your absence).
- Pay the First Installment: Pay the first month’s premium online through net banking, debit card, or UPI. The monthly contribution amount is automatically calculated based on your current age.
- Download Your Card: Once the submission is successful, your Shram Yogi Pension Card will be generated. Download and save it on your phone for future reference
