Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: The student must have completed their matriculation (SSLC/Class 10) and be currently enrolled in a recognized post-matric course. Eligible courses include Pre-University Courses (PUC), Bachelor’s Degrees (BA, BSc, BCom, etc.), Diplomas, ITI, Engineering (BE/BTech), and Medical programs (MBBS, BDS, AYUSH).
  • Department Allocation: Accommodations are divided based on community categories under two primary wings:
    1. Social Welfare Department: Primarily caters to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) students.
    2. Backward Classes Welfare Department: Caters to Other Backward Classes (OBC), including Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B students.
  • Domicile: Applicants must be permanent residents of Karnataka.

Required Documents for Application

  1. Aadhaar Card of the student (linked with an active mobile number).
  2. Caste and Income Certificate issued by the competent authority (with a valid RD number).
  3. SSLC / Class 10 Marks Card.
  4. Previous year’s marks cards (for those entering second or subsequent years of their course).
  5. College Admission Receipt or Study Certificate for the current academic year 2026–27.
  6. Student’s Passport-size photograph.
  7. Bank Passbook details (if required for stipend or direct benefit transfers).

  1. Visit the official website of the Backward Classes Welfare Department or the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) / Integrated Hostel Management System (IHMS) portal as designated by the government.

  3. Register yourself using your Aadhaar and academic registration details.
  4. Log in with your credentials and accurately fill out the application form, entering personal details, academic background, and hostel preferences.
  5. Upload the mandatory documents and verify the details before final submission.
  6. Download and print the acknowledgment receipt for future reference and verification purposes during physical counseling or seat allotment.
